We are on a mission to teach everyone the universal language of music
Music is everywhere! Not only is music a standalone art form, but it is central to TV shows, movies, and art. It is a direct line to the soul through creative self-expression. Everyone deserves to learn how to express themselves through music, without the barriers of it being boring or inaccessible. We are all born with the ability to feel through music. Our goal is to teach everyone how to access the language in a fun, engaging manner, free of the stress of academic achievement, through private instruction, group lessons, songwriting, and production.
Not everything needs to be a competition!
We want to revolutionize how music is taught, using modern tools and motivational techniques
Most So i Heard Music students stay enrolled for years at a time due to our student-centered, mission-driven approach to music lessons. We have six-year-olds writing songs on iPads! How awesome is that? As kids learn the language of music, they level up to join bands and eventually create their own professional music productions, fulfilling the mission of creative expression through the universal language of music.
We want to change as many lives as possible through music
The more kids who learn the language of music, the better. Music provides a creative outlet that helps foster healthy coping habits for stress, helps kids create friendships with other musicians, and has incalculable positive effects on society as a whole. In the words of John Lennon, “Imagine all the people, sharing all the world. You may say that I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope that someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.”
We want to provide awesome jobs for talented musicians, allowing them to utilize their talents while fulfilling our mission of changing lives through music lessons
So i Heard Music was founded by friends and lifelong musicians Sam Morgan and Sean Killary. Their goal is to help musicians find their life path and strengthen their connection to music through fulfilling So i Heard’s missions. What better way is there to connect with music than to share that love of the language with new students? So i Heard instructors are part of a community and are encouraged to use studio time to better their craft, while helping each other learn new things and grow as professionals. We even have former students of So i Heard come back to teach! The cycle of musical growth continues at So i Heard, and students become lifelong partners of the mission.
