Fun Drum Lessons for Kids

Starting at age 7, drum lessons at So i Heard Music are energetic, hands-on, and built around helping students develop real musical skills while having fun.

Looking for something for a younger child? Kids under age 7 can start with KidzRock, our group rock band program designed especially for younger beginners.

Students learn the fundamentals of drumming, including rhythm, coordination, technique, reading, timing, and groove, using both electronic and acoustic drum kits.

Our instructors tailor lessons to each student’s age, experience, goals, and musical interests. Whether your child is sitting behind a drum kit for the first time or already playing along with favorite songs, we’ll meet them where they are and help them keep progressing.

More Than Just a Weekly Drum Lesson

Music is more fun when students get opportunities to use what they’re learning. Drum students can take part in open classes, jam sessions, office hours, recitals, open mic nights, and other studio activities throughout the year.

These experiences give students more chances to play, meet other musicians, get extra help, and build confidence outside of their regular private lesson.

Students ages 8+ can also choose to join our Performers Program, a dedicated band class where they can rehearse with other students, learn how to play as part of a group, and perform live.
