Hi, I’m Rong!

I grew up in Shanghai, China, and began studying piano at the age of four. At fifteen, I was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where I began my professional vocal training. Since then, I have gained extensive experience in solo and choral performance. My performance venues include Lincoln Center in New York and Shanghai Concert Hall in China, among others. I am now a singer and educator based in New York City. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice from the Manhattan School of Music, a Master of Music in Classical Voice from New York University, and a Master of Education in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. In addition to my expertise as a classical vocalist, I am also skilled in piano and web design. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a strong interest in the intersection of music, psychology, and human development, exploring how music can support mental health beyond its artistic value. I also interned with several disability organizations in Shanghai, further deepening my commitment to the role of music in education and well-being.
