Sean Killary and Sam Morgan founded So i Heard Music based on the principle that music lessons should be fun, and taught using modern technology.
The original location in Millburn, NJ opened its doors in July of 2013 and quickly became the talk of the town. By 2018, So i Heard Music has grown to serve more than 1,300 students per month, and all of our students have seen the benefit of our unique style of music lesson.
Sam and Sean met at Berklee College of Music in 2007 and performed in bands together throughout their college years. Sam majored in Music Education, while Sean dual-majored in Music Business and Production. After college, the fusion of their collective expertise formed the basis for So i Heard Music.
So i Heard Music teaches in a highly interactive way that combines music theory, technology, and maximum motivation to make music lessons fun for your child. Our instructors are graduates of the nation’s leading music education programs.
These days, kids are practically born with an iPad or screen in their hands. The goal of So i Heard Music is to teach students music in their tech-savvy language. Students learn through our very special brand of private music lessons, band lessons, and adapted lessons, and we provide creative coping skills through our music therapy services.
Students can learn how to play an instrument, read, write, and record music, all within a fun, safe, and high-tech environment built for K-12. We teach beginner through advanced piano lessons, keyboard lessons, drum lessons, percussion lessons, voice lessons, guitar lessons, songwriting lessons, bass lessons, violin lessons and more in technology-equipped studios that foster creative expression.
