Hi, I’m Caydee!
I studied Music Therapy at West Texas A&M University with a background in classical guitar, jazz, popular music and songwriting. I have been classically trained in guitar for 8 years and have experience performing in trios, jazz bands and orchestras. I have always loved music as a form of creativity and self-expression. I enjoy exploring different genres and finding what makes each style unique. I am currently continuing to develop my musicianship as I am an intern at the Louis Armstrong Department of Music Therapy at Mount Sinai.
My Approach to a Typical Lesson
My teaching approach is centered around using creativity to find your personal connection to music. I want students to feel comfortable exploring the styles they enjoy while also building a strong musical foundation. Whether they are interested in learning their favorite song, techniques, or creating their own music, I believe lessons should be a space where students can express themselves and have fun with music.
My Advice for Students
Creativity will lead to motivation. When given the opportunity to explore genuine interests, learning becomes so much more rewarding.
