Welcoming Two Incredible New Teachers to So i Heard Music: Kat & Xanthe

We’re excited to welcome two amazing new instructors to the So i Heard Music team — Katherine (“Kat”) Le Fevre and Xanthe — each bringing a unique background, perspective, and energy to our studio.

Whether you’re focused on vocal performance, songwriting, musical theatre, or just getting started, these two are going to be a huge addition to our community.

Meet Kat Le Fevre

Kat Le Fevre

Kat is a New York–based musical theatre performer, voice teacher, and Actors’ Equity Association member, currently pursuing her Master’s in Vocal Performance at NYU Steinhardt along with an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy.

Her experience spans international performance with The Walt Disney Company, teaching in Shanghai, and working as a diction coach and assistant director for musical theatre programs. She also brings experience in live band performance and voiceover work, making her a dynamic and versatile artist as well as an outstanding teacher.

Kat will be teaching Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, starting in May, with her first day at So i Heard Music beginning on Tuesday, May 5th.

She offers lessons in voice, beginner piano, and musical theatre, and is a great fit for students preparing for auditions, building confidence, or looking to develop strong fundamentals with a thoughtful, artist-driven approach. Kat teaches beginner through advanced voice & musical theater lessons, and beginner piano lessons.

Kat’s teaching style blends vocal science, storytelling, and full-body awareness, helping students build not just technique, but an authentic and confident voice of their own.

Meet Xanthe

Xanthe Miller

Xanthe’s story is especially meaningful to us because she is a former So i Heard Music student, now returning to teach the next generation of students here at the school. We always love seeing things come full circle, and we’re thrilled to welcome her back in this new role.

A vocalist, composer, songwriter, music supervisor, and part-time independent radio host, Xanthe grew up right here in Millburn Short Hills. She has studied voice for 12 years and composition for 8 years, and brings a wide-ranging musical background shaped by performance, composition, and artist development.

She teaches with a focus on strong foundations, musicality, and helping students connect their personal goals to technique and theory. Xanthe offers lessons in voice, piano, songwriting, and artist development.

Xanthe is available on Mondays and Fridays, but her schedule is already nearly full. If you are interested in working with her, we recommend reaching out soon.

Why We’re Excited

At So i Heard Music, we’re always looking for teachers who bring both real-world experience and the ability to connect with students in a meaningful way. Kat and Xanthe each bring something special to our studio, and we’re excited for students and families to get to know them.

Kat brings a high-level musical theatre and vocal pedagogy background with a thoughtful, empowering teaching style. Xanthe brings creativity, local roots, a strong vocal pedagogy background, and the unique perspective of someone who once grew up as a student at So i Heard Music herself.

Now Booking

Kat is now booking for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting in May, and Xanthe has limited availability remaining on Mondays and Fridays.

If you’ve been thinking about starting lessons, adding a new instrument, or finding the right fit for voice or musical theatre, now is a great time to reach out.
