We’re so excited that you decided to try So i Heard!

You should already have received a confirmation email confirming the appointment day and time. If you have an instrument, bring it to the lesson! If not, don’t worry. We can always provide one for you or provide an alternative for the trial lesson session. Piano players and drummers never need to bring their instrument to their lessons.

What happens after the trial?

After your trial lesson, let us know if you’d like to enroll! We reserve the time slot of your trial lesson for you as a recurring time until the close of business on the day of your trial lesson. Make sure to let us know either in person or by phone that you want to continue. If we don’t hear from you by the end of the business day, your time slot opens back up and could get booked by another potential student!

How does enrollment work?

Enrollment at So i Heard Music is a month to month commitment. Front desk staff will prorate your first month’s tuition to the day of your first enrolled lesson. You will be charged a flat rate fee on the first of every month that pays for your lessons that month. The cost for 1/2 hour lessons is $165/month and the cost for 1-hour lessons is $310/month. If you want to discontinue lessons at any time, just let us know before the 25th of your last month taking lessons, and you won’t be charged again.

What does “flat-rate fee” mean?

All of our locations follow a calendar that closely resembles the local school calendar, which means we do not open when schools are not in session. In other words, you are not paying for these scheduled breaks. We take the total cost of expected lessons throughout the year, usually between 42 and 45 lessons, and divide that cost by 12 to get your flat-rate fee. Some months will have 3 scheduled lessons, and others will have 4 or even 5. Your price is always the same.

What about make-up lessons?

All of our make-up lessons happen on Friday afternoons between 3 pm and 6:30 pm. Each student receives one make-up credit per month to use towards a Friday make-up. Credits don’t roll over and accumulate, but new make-up credits are issued on the first of every month. Unfortunately, lessons cannot be made up any day other than Friday.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call the studio at 973.232.5111 and our front desk staff would be more than happy to help you.
