A New Kind of Aftercare Program
Unlike your typical aftercare program, Aftercare at So i Heard Music provides tremendous value to your kids beyond being simply a place to drop off your child for a few hours after school. While peace of mind comes from knowing your child is in a safe and nurturing environment, So i Heard Music provides additional growth through our integrated music, performance, and music recording curriculum, with an option for one-on-one private music instruction.
Our kid-centered music studio has a game room, performance area, band room, Twitch® streaming room, computer and video games, and tables for homework!
One snack per day is provided, with the option to purchase additional healthy snacks.
How does it work?
Generally, kids will hang out in our Green Room where there are board games, table games, and video & computer games (Roblox, anyone?), with staff available to help with homework. All kids can take part in group general music and music tech classes, listening exercises, music videos (age-appropriate), and more.
Parents and kids have the option to pick a daily group class in our state-of-the-art performance, recording, and video-streaming classroom, The Back Room at So i Heard. Class options include Pop Performance, Rock Performance, Songwriting, and Music Production, in addition to group music classes on specific instruments, such as the piano, guitar, voice, and drums.
Note: Your child does not have to have an existing interest in music to have fun in our program! There is enough to do that they will find their place at So i Heard Music.
All kids will have the opportunity to perform at our monthly open mic nights.
The list of classes changes throughout the year with more options added often, all included in the price of tuition.
For an additional charge, students who have an interest in learning a specific instrument can join our weekly private lesson program. Your instructor will come and find you, no need to go anywhere else.
When the weather is good, we will take time to go outside and soak up those rays!
All staff are So i Heard Music employees and pass a background check.
Billing and commitment are monthly. The last pickup time is 6:00 PM. Additional options are available for district closure and half-days.
